McLane III, a native of Temple, Texas, is a 1996 graduate of Baylor University. Before joining the McLane Group in 2006, he spent two years with MBNA Bank in Dallas and seven years with Lone Star Plastics in Garland. Today, he serves as the executive vice president of McLane Group and several subsidiary companies.

“We are extremely pleased to have the McLane family invest in the future of Central National Bank,” said Nesbitt. “The McLanes are well known around Texas, not just for their business acumen or their philanthropy, but for their compassionate spirit and extraordinary character. We look forward to Drayton’s service on the board and the qualities he’ll bring to the bank in his role as a director.”

The McLane family joins the Beard, Chase, Clifton, Kultgen, Nesbitt, Olson, and Rapoport families, all of whom have maintained ownership in the bank since 1998. Central National Bank was purchased by five of the current eight families in 1987 and soon became one of Central Texas’ leading independent banks. Since that time, the bank has steadily grown from $67 million to $710 million in assets.
