In conjunction with Veterans Day this Thursday, CNB’s Joe Nesbitt and Bryan Fonville recently sat down and visited with our good friend, Edd Newman, who served in the United States Navy during World War II.

In the 25 minute conversation, Mr. Newman reflects on his time aboard the USS Steamer Bay, an aircraft carrier that provided critical air support during the battles of Okinawa and Iwo Jima. He also talks about his love of flying, why he wears his World War II Veteran cap, and what it means to him when someone says “thank you for your service.”

If you’d prefer to listen to the interview, you can access an audio-only version on SoundCloud.
